Making a Joyful Noise! From the time of John and Charles Wesley, music has been a vital and distinctive component of the Methodist worship experience. From our beginnings we have been a "singing people." The United Methodist Hymnal contains more than seventy hymns, poems, and responses written by the Wesleys. John Wesley's Directions for Singing offers this pithy advice:
We invite all who attend services at the Highlands United Methodist Church to sing, pray, and respond "lustily and with good courage." The ChoirsThere are opportunities for ministry through music for every age group, preschool through adult. If you would like to serve the Lord by sharing your musical talents, there is a place for you at Highlands United Methodist Church. For more information, contact the Church Office at (828) 526-3376.
