The Highlands United
Methodist Church welcomed Todd Struble and Mike Harris as its Pastors on Sunday, July
1, 2007.

Todd
Struble
grew
up in State College, Pennsylvania.
He
graduated
from Eastern
Nazarene College,
was accepted to Duke Divinity School and after receiving his Master of Divinity degree, entered Weston
School of
Theology (a Roman Catholic
Jesuit seminary in Cambridge) where he
earned a
Master of Theology degree.
He served
three years at the
Salem-Hopewell Charge in Rutherford
County
then moved to Spruce Pine and served the Methodist church there for seven
years. He served as the pastor of the New Salem church
in Statesville for four years.
HUNC
is his fourth appointment.
Todd’s wife,
Diane grew up in Tallahassee, Wilmington, Wilson, and Spruce Pine. Diane
graduated from Warren Wilson College
and was
employed as an elementary
school teacher (she
will be a
fourth-grade teacher at the Highlands School).
The Strubles
have eight
children.
Four of them are Diane's
from a
previous marriage (Lindsey, Devon, Xan, Ben) and three of them are Todd’s
from a previous marriage (Nicole,
Allie,
Jacob). And their youngest, Sadie, was born in
February
2005 (Super Bowl Sunday!).

Mike Harris, our new Associate Minister, was Born at the Landstuhl Regional Medical
Center in Germany while his Father was serving in
the US Army.
Mike brings a breadth of life experience living in many
different places during his formative years.
Mike Graduated from Kansas State University with
a BS in Business Administration and worked in professional sales before
entering the ministry in 2000. He Graduated from United Theological
Seminary, in Dayton, Ohio in 2004.
Mike has served in the role of Pastor for 6 years – three years as a Student Pastor of a Small
Church and three years as Full time Pastor of three Small Churches. This is
his second full time appointment.
Mike has “been married to "my best friend Carroll” for 10 years and they have four
beautiful children: Emma, Nathan, Joshua, and Cooper.
He looks forward to continuing oo serve God and leading children, youth,
and adults into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, while reaching out
to the world around us |
